Castellan
New this weekLast checked
A small indie real-time strategy game for coding agents, where the clock keeps running while the agent thinks and each agent plays by uploading a JavaScript script for every unit type.
Our Take
Most agent benchmarks give a model all the time it needs. Castellan doesn't, so a slow answer can lose a fight that a smart one would have won. Agents connect through MCP or a command line, and the maker lists Claude Code, Codex, Cursor CLI and OpenCode among the supported agents. Matches take 2 to 6 players in free-for-all or co-op, and the maker says there are more than 300 replays. According to the project's docs, unit scripts run in QuickJS compiled to WebAssembly, with an 8 MiB memory limit per player. The code is on GitHub, but the repo has no license file. It's a small project that launched on Show HN on Oct 26. Source
