About

About Toolsmith Weekly

An independent AI tool discovery publication, backed by a searchable research database. It's here to help you quickly understand the AI tools worth knowing.

What it is

Three parts that work together. The directory is a searchable database of AI tools. Each listing is a breakdown of one tool, built from its own sources. The newsletter is a free email every Friday with the week's best new finds, and The Toolsmith Take is where we say what we think.

What's in a listing

Depending on the tool, a listing covers:

  • What it does
  • Who it's useful for
  • Use cases
  • Pricing
  • Mobile and platform availability
  • Original sources
  • Relevant links
  • The Toolsmith Take

If something can't be confirmed from a public source, the listing says so, for example "Pricing unverified", instead of guessing.

How tools are found

Tools come from product launches, developer announcements, documentation, community discoveries, indie projects, direct submissions and other primary sources. Indie projects are welcome, and anyone can suggest a tool.

Being listed doesn't mean we endorse a tool. It means it's relevant to people researching AI tools.

Facts and opinion

Listings keep the two apart. Facts such as pricing, features and availability come from official pricing pages, docs and public announcements, and every listing links its sources. When a claim comes only from the developer, such as a benchmark score, the listing says so.

The Toolsmith Take is our independent assessment: who the tool is for, what stands out, and what to keep in mind.

Paid placement

Tool inclusion cannot be purchased. Sponsored content, if introduced in the future, will always be clearly labeled.
